What are semiotics? How are they important to reading and writing?
A lot of you are starting to discuss EMPATHY in the books. What is empathy? Why is it important to discuss while we are reading our texts?
Bonus question, how does empathy relate to semiotics?
Semiotics is to study signs in communication. They're important in reading because alot of writers use them to make their text more rich. So to understand the Semiotcs of their writing is to understand what their writing about and read a little deaper into it.
ReplyDeleteEmpathy is to identify with an emotion, thoughts and such. It is important wile reading because our books have characters that you have to feel what their feeling. They go through so much that you have to understand what their feeling. You empathize alot more with them.
They relate because when you empathize with a character, your reading more into the text.Your reading the signs that the author has left you to understand their story more.
Semiotics, also called semiotic studies or semiology, is the study of sign processes (semiosis), or signification and communication, signs and symbols, both individually and grouped into sign systems. It includes the study of how meaning is constructed and understood
ReplyDeletesemiotics are good in writing papers because they give you signs to better understand someone through their writing.
